Across the school year we run a wide range of lunchtime and after school sports clubs.

Dallow Primary has an excellent tradition of cricket and we keep this high standard up with clubs for every year group in Key Stage 2. At this club our pupils learn the fundamentals of cricket, leading to competitive tournaments and matches with teams across the town. Our Year 6 mixed team train after school working on more advanced skills in bowling, batting and fielding.

Our popular football clubs run for boys and girls during lunchtimes and after school.

Every break time our P.E staff run a Football League in our KS2 5-a-side ‘Smooga’ court on the playground. Each day a different class play against a group of children chosen by the P.E team.

In Key Stage 1 the children have the opportunity to take part in a club which introduces them to the game and to have some fun!

Our Key Stage 2 children are introduced to and develop core football skills, in particular defending, passing, control, attacking, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Children in each age group regularly take part in matches and tournaments throughout the year.

Our very popular ‘Recreation Football’ is run after school for all Year 5 and 6 children. Here they play lots of matches. This club is all about fun and participation at the end of the week with all children welcome.

Our KS2 netball squad train after school in preparation for the Winter Luton Netball League. They continue to develop their core skills, learnt in previous years, and particularly work on positioning and competitive play.

Our athletics clubs begin in the Summer Term. At these clubs the children work on all aspects of track and field, sprinting, long distance, shot put, javelin, triple jump etc. This prepares our pupils for the Luton Zone Athletics competition in the Summer Term.

We introduce our tennis club in the Summer Term. The children work on the very basic fundamentals of the sport, with our competitions running parallel to the Wimbledon Championships in June.

A popular mixed gymnastics club is run by one of our Coaches. Here the children learn safety and basic gym movements. They have an opportunity to participate in events and competitions across Luton.

Multi skills

For our Key Stage 1 children we run a multi skills club after school. Here the children have opportunities to develop their physical skills in a wide variety of sporting activities.

As part of the Chiltern Learning Trust we participate in the annual gym and dance show at Denbigh High School. Pupils participate in a dance club to develop their dance skills and perfect their performance for the show.

Other clubs and activities are run across the school year depending on the availability of our Sports Team and the interest of the pupils.
